HOW TO GET THERE
Directions
The Gone With The Film Festival is located in Heritage Valley, which is easily accessible from the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5). By exiting at Highway 126, heading west. Fillmore is just minutes from Six Flags Magic Mountain. Continuing in the same direction, the fragrance of orange and lemon groves will begin to fill the air as you travel in the westerly direction to Fillmore. Signs along the way will assist Filmmakers and Filmgoers with identifying key landmarks. For those traveling from the Ventura area, begin by utilizing Highway 126 East. Out of State filmmakers may want to consider booking a flight into Burbank Airport. It alleviates the traffic issues and car rentals are abundant.
Iris International Film has dedicated all screenings of "Gone With The Film Festival" this day only, to the promotion of Children's Film Appreciation. The event will occur at the refurbished Towne Theatre. A 90 minute presentation will consist of Family Friendly Shorts and Featurettes delving into issues of friendship, environment, humor, animation and action adventure. The Mary Pickford Foundation will be presenting a silent short with a musical score to further educate the students about the legacy of the art of filmmaking. There will be two morning sessions devoted to Elementary students and one in the afternoon, specializing in Middle to Higher educational levels. Producers and Directors will be on hand for a Question & Answer period following . This event is vital as most contemporary students have little or no notion of the filmmaking history which they share a part of! Very few turn of the century movie house and ranch locations exist anymore. The craft began here, never forget that!! Therein lies the purpose of this special event.
